The Jokes on Me
The Blog Hop seems to be a roaring success so far, and to keep you up to date while I continue to regale you with my adventures here in the Bay, you can click here to get the skinny on the BLOG HOP PARTY which continues all this week until December 17th, and most BLOG participants will be randomly having winners selected.
I will be announcing the winner of my Blogs Giveaway through Mr Random on Monday, December 19th. Why, because I have committed to working and finishing the Angel Tree Project (wrapping all of the parcels) which Santa will be leaving for children at their homes .
Last year at the wrapping party we managed to wrap up all gifts and load them into 45 individual children's Xmas bags, but this year we have 108 (final count) Angels to wrap for and I just know these will not all get wrapped on the one night...LOL
I will also be wrapping all of my pressies for my seniors who are shut-ins! I just love the gifts I made and bought for them, these I will show you later in another post.
In the meantime I will bring you up to date on my activities over the past few days since the Hop began.
Looking out my window the other morning you can see that Ole Man Winter has finally got a laugh or two on me! Just two days ago I was telling you all about what the weatherman is predicting about this being a Green Christmas, and then I spied my neighbor mowing his lawn, and now what do I see and feel?

Thats it, SNOW - the "S" word! And with it a huge drop in our temperature this morning, -1 Celsius or 30 Fahrenheit! I simply am not a cold weather person.
This morning has been busy around here, neighbors dropping in, sewing machine humming, telephone ringing, and in between these activities I have been partying! Yes, Blog Hopping and reading all of the wonderful comments you are leaving me as well, what FUN!
I hope you like the Giveaway? Thought it might generate some interest in those wonderful patterns and help use up but a tiny fraction of my humongous stash!!

This party is off to such a great start, and if you think about it, Michele from the Quilting Gallery worked long and hard to arrange this for all of us. THANK YOU MICHELE and a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to The Quilting Gallery!!
Have you been enjoying this wonderful Hop? The inventiveness of the participating Bloggers is fantastic, this is such a fantastic way to meet and make new Blogging friends.
I won't carry on too long this very cold Saturday afternoon because there are 5 or 6 Senior Residents of the Seeley's Bay Retirement Residence who are going to keep me company this evening when we drive to the Village of Delta to view the Christmas Lights displays which that Village puts on every year at this time. I believe there will be three or four vans from the Residence going to enjoy this seasonal light show. The Old Stone Mill is a wonderful old Mill and remains today an important and vital historic building of this tiny community and in this Region.
Time for me to get ready, supper for me tonight at the Residence and then to warm up my van so that my companions will be warm and comfy while we wend our way towards Delta and the magnificent light show that awaits us all. You can see the pictures I managed to take here!
THANK you one and all who have come to visit with me and for participating in this happy Blog Hop I just know you are all having a great time. I am hoping you will tell me all about your Blog Hop adventures or what it is you like best about this experience and that you will be a frequent visitor to The Quilting Gallery, Michele always has great quilting guest bloggers as well as wonderful quilt contests, check it out, you will not be disappointed, Trust Me! The Gallery is my Information Station!
Take care and be kind to yourselves today, you deserve it.
Now where are my winter boots, hat, scarf and mittens????

Friends in the Santa Parade
It's a wet and soggy here in the Bay this morning. When first I looked outside it was foggy and chilly, now it is raining and according to the weatherman it will rain for a few more days. While I am not happy with the overcast gray skies, it is acceptable, more acceptable than snow and ice.
I have had a busy week and more to the point a busy weekend with more to follow this week and this coming weekend.
I have managed to walk in two Santa parades, make a box filled with little tissue holders, bookmarks and today am working on some small totes for our fundraiser Christmas craft sale at Springfield House east of here and in aid of the Friends of The Leeds and Thousand Islands Library fund! I am hoping I do not bring any of these items back home with me.
As you can see we were but a small band but happy an in the Christmas spirit and had fun handing out candies along the parade route to those smiling childrens' faces all waiting impatiently for Santa to arrive whose large float was the last to arrive.
After the parade children with their parents lined up at the Library to have their wishes and their pictures taken by and with Santa. Some lists were quite long and dear old St. Nick was very patient with these little ones. Then we all had tasty hot dogs and hot chocolate before leaving for home. I was tired, but I had had such a great deal of fun.
My day is rather filled with necessary appointments and tomorrow and this coming Saturday and Sunday wow, this season is coming on far too quickly, don't you agree?
I didn't even have time to take advantage of the Black Friday or the Cyber Monday sales, that is just how hectic my life is at this time, but I saved alot of money that way, but last minute shopping will just have to be done this year.
Thank you for sharing a part of your day with me here in the Bay, and keep popping in as I will be sponsoring another GIVEAWAY.

Happy Saturday Giveaway
Happy Saturday, I am late in posting today, but actually I have been rather busy with Community works today seeing as The Man In Motion, Rick Hansen is coming into town tomorrow and our Lions Club will be presenting a sizeable donation from our small but very active club.
I also have a patient whom I care for part-time when the regular caregivers are unable to take a shift, so I did a short shift this afternoon and it felt so very good to see her once again and spend the afternoon, and when I am there I always have a hand sewing project to work on when I have nothing left to do, so, today the Hexagons I am working on cane out to play with me. My quilt top is steadily growing albeit slowly as I did not do as much as I thought I would do when I was in Holland. Here you can see it is growing but like I said not as large as I had hoped only 35 flowers so far.
Sew - how are your hexies growing, I would love to hear about your hexies or any other hand sewing take-along project your working on.
To this end, please send me a comment on what your working on and how it is progressing, and in return there is a giveaway attached to this request.
Please leave your comment but remember to include your e-mail address so that I may contact you for your snail mail address. My little giveaway consists of a set of Seat Belt Covers made by yours truly, and a book titled 1003 Great Things About Friends, which I hope someone may want to own?

TGIF and my Celebration Giveaway
Do you believe it, it's Friday again. I hope the sun manages to come out and play with everyone this long Victoria Day weekend. Right now all I can see is the Fog,

making me feel like I am right back in good ole Saint John, NewBrunswick!!!!
making me feel like I am right back in good ole Saint John, NewBrunswick!!!!
This picture was selected for Google Earth at http://www.panoramio.com/photo/471033 I am hoping the sun will eventually come out to play and stay the entire Long Weekend. This is our May 24th holiday weekend, it used to be called Victoria Day, mostly now people just say the 24th..
Many years ago I made small Christmas tablecloths to give away, but I kept this one for myself and I still enjoy using it every Christmas. Can you see the tiny 2" Log Cabin blocks I made as connectors for the center block?
A bit hard to distinguish, but, it worked for me. My reason for posting a Christmas item now, is, as you know I have been cleaning cupboards and of course the linen closet had to be taken apart because I needed to make certain there were no meeces nesting in there. Seeing this little table cloth reminds me that I should make some more of these, they make such lovely little gifts to give good to to cover a table at any time.
Patchwork tablecloths are just as durable as any other tablecloth you might purchase in a store, afterall, this one is almost 8 years old and has been used over Christmas and New Years each year, washed and quickly ironed, and it still looks just as bright and Christmassy as it did when I first made it.
I Chose TODAY to celebrate my returned blog from Blogger. Seemingly my blog was not the only blog to suffer problems being removed, or having comments not show up, pictures missing, etc., and if you are one of those bloggers, you will understand what it is I am referring to.
SO I am celebrating my return with a giveaway!
ALL you have to do is to leave a comment as well as your e-mail address and you could take ownership of this pretty and very useful QUILT JOURNAL

I should have turned the blue log cabins to the bottom outside for this center block, but, it is my one mistake and I decided many moons ago to just leave it that way. |

Color Me Back
Hello Everyone, I made it back!
After 17 years of faithful service my old computer died. It was a good and expensive computer of the 90's, you know, a computer tower that was large and difficult to handle when you had to transport it to the computer hospital to be saved by some technician, with a monitor of 15 inches, beveled and the size of a baby elephant and just as heavy. I thought it could still be rescued for just a few more months, it was not to be so into the graveyard where all good and hardworking computers go to when finally they're past resuscitation.
Finally after several hours of careful comparison shopping and checking to make certain my savings account could live past the hit I was expecting it to take, I bought a new computer. The new computer came bundled with Windows 7, a new LED 21" flat screen monitor, a new keyboard and a new mouse. Viola, here I am all set up and ready to pick up my life again on the world wide web.
Remember in an earlier post I told you about the Pay It Forward game, and that this April 28th is Pay It Forward Day, well, I have decided what it is I want to do to celebrate this special day. They have a wonderful trailer on U-tube click here to see it.
Paying it Forward is a concept not really new, many have been paying it forward in the world without drawing attention to it. They appear, they do, they don't advertise it and they leave, hoping the one fortunate enough to have been on the receiving end would just go ahead and repay the kindness by helping someone else who came across their life's path and needed a helping hand or a hand up, and onwards the practice was carried out. No hoopla, no loud ringing of the bells, no front page or above the fold news, just quietly doing something for another in need, someone who may never know that Good Samaritan. Yes, you've got the drift.
The quilting community is one of the most generous communities that I have personally been involved with. When the cry is put out for help these Angels raise their hands, lower their heads and get stitching, giving generously of their time, efforts and creations which fly out of the sewing rooms and onto the shoulders of another human being, from the tiniest of human beings who had the misfortune to be born well ahead of their term to the wounded from wars and natural disasters and to those who grieve. This is an all encompassing Pay It Forward Movement and they don't waste their time advertising, they just do it, whatever the it might be, with the knowledge beforehand that 99 out of 100 will never know who the person was that made that comfort.
In celebration of PAY IT FORWARD DAY I'd also like to host a pay it forward exchange.
Here is how to get in on the fun:
I will make and send a Handmade gift on April 28th to the First 3 Bloggers who leave a comment to this post requesting to join this Pay It Forward fun exchange and who then in return Pays it Forward by promising to post a Pay It Forward event on your blog. You must leave me your Blog URL so that I may contact you to obtain your mailing address and send my goodie to you. Come, all of you International Bloggers, join in, spread the word in your region of the world, it will prove to be quite alot of fun.
